This speaker series aims to help people who are interested in high-impact policy careers learn more about what various DC policy jobs are like, as well as how they can get these jobs, so they can better identify and prepare for a US policy career. The series will primarily focus on security and technology policy, including in AI and biosecurity, though we expect much of the content to be relevant to other policy areas as well.
Format:
Sessions will last about an hour, following an interactive, moderated Q&A format, with half the time dedicated to audience questions to make sure we cover topics relevant to attendees. After each session, the organizers will follow up with attendees with related links and other relevant career resources.
Topics covered:
1. Q&A session(s) with senior policy practitioners
2. Working in the executive branch / White House
3. Working in Congress
4. Working in think tanks
5. Graduate school for policy careers (master's, law school, PhD)
6. Information session on US policy fellowship opportunities
Sessions will kick off mid-July, and we will email you the schedule shortly after you sign up here (please allow for a few days). For more background, see:
